One man was injured and a shooter was sought after a fight outside a Sodo nightclub early Sunday.

Seattle police say that officers were called to the 2900 block of First Avenue South just before 2 a.m. Neither the suspect nor the victim was there when they arrived, but they learned that the incident started with a fight outside the club.

Investigators learned that a man was attacked by another group of men outside the club, and that club security broke up the melee soon after with pepper spray. But according to SPD, the man who was initially attacked went to his car and drove by the group that assaulted him, firing a number of shots, then drove off to the north.

One man in that group was hit twice, once in the hip and once in the foot. Some in the group took him to Harborview Medical Center, dropped him off at the emergency room and left.

SPD Gang Unit detectives found the shooting victim at Harborview and interviewed him there.

Later on Sunday morning, the SPD says the alleged shooter’s vehicle, a 1990s Chevrolet Caprice, was found in Rainier Valley. It was impounded and is currently in the SPD evidence  garage.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s, 5-9 to 5-11, 175 pounds, with his hair in cornrows and last seen wearing a black T-shirt and jeans.
